The school Stage Band has again been awarded 1st place in the Sunshine Coast MusicFest finals, held on Sunday November 1. The standard in the final was very high with ensembles from Matthew Flinders Anglican College and Sunshine Coast Grammar School also competing.
On Sunday 30th August the Sunshine Beach SupaStarz Cheer Squad competed in the Australian All Stars Cheerleading Federation State Championship at Boondall Entertainment Centre, Brisbane.

Schools First Funding
Sunshine Beach State High School is one of only twenty schools throughout Australia to receive $25,000 in inaugural Schools First Seed Funding Awards. Sunshine Beach State High School has been recognised for its dedication in providing improved educational outcomes for students through the development of this school – community partnership.
Noosa Springs was the venue for the very successful Year 11 Masquerade Ball held recently for Year 11 students, parents and teachers from Sunshine Beach State High School.
A Senior Secondary Visual Arts student at Sunshine Beach State High School was recently announced as one of two students in the Sunshine Coast District to have their work selected for the 2009 Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art and Design Touring Exhibition.
In the early hours of Tuesday, 23rd June, the Sunshine Beach SupaStarz Cheerleaders were busily preparing themselves in the School Performing Arts Block for the long day and night ahead.
Sunshine Beach SHS Vocal Students took part in the annual Combined Schools Choir Day, which was held at Sunshine Beach SHS on July 23. St Andrews Anglican College and a visiting choir from Italy, ‘Gioventu in Cantata’ also participated in the choral workshop and culminating evening performance.
Congratulations to Clare whose innovative and creative work with animations won her the Noosa Regional Gallery Travelling Scholarship 2009 (Secondary School Students Category).
Last Friday, Sunshine Beach State High’s sports oval was covered in a mixture of colour as the Mundaka Monsters, Waimea Hippies, Uluwatu Greens and the Banzai Harry Potter look-a-likes all battled from beginning to end in a heroic attempt to be crowned the Champion House!!
