Sunshine Beach State High School

This was all in preparation for the Queensland All Schools Cheerleading Championship held at Suncorp Piazza in Brisbane, where they competed against twelve other schools from across the State and private sector. Their dynamic 4½ minute routine consisted of a group chant, stunts and dance sequences choreographed by their coach, Greer Stockton and senior members of the team. All members were completely unexpecting to hear the announcement of the winning team - “Sunshine Beach SHS”, which gained them the title of Queensland All Schools Senior Cheerleading Champions for 2009.

Greer Stockton introduced cheerleading to SBSHS in 2004 and it has grown in popularity since. The dedicated team of 25 range from Years 8 through to Year 12. They have had many previous successes, however this has been their greatest achievement to date.
