Guidance Officer

Student, School Community Welfare and Careers

Sherril Rowston is my name and student welfare/support and advocacy as a Guidance Officer has been my responsibility/role at Sunshine Beach State High State since 1993. As a Teacher/District School Counsellor, (P-12) I was employed several years with the New South Wales Department of Education.

In 1989 I was employed by Queensland Education Department as a Guidance Officer (P-12). In 2002, I was requested to work full time at Sunshine Beach State High School to establish the Sunshine Guidance Centre, now student services, with the members of the welfare team, who are all dedicated and supportive to students, staff, parents and the wider community.

I thoroughly enjoy living here amongst nature, national parks and the sea. Adventurous by nature, I travel to far away countries as often as I can.
