Dear Sunshine High Community,

I want to thank you all for your support and contribution to our school over the year.  We have much to celebrate and be thankful for as we move into the festive season.

Our school, like all schools, is a busy and complex place.  One where the pace can often become hectic, but as the year comes to an end it is important to remember that our students have achieved so much, as a community and as individuals and we should all be very proud of the young people that make up our Sunshine Beach SHS community.

It is also important to remember that our school does not exist in isolation, we are part of a community and I would like to thank all the businesses, organisations and individuals who have supported our school through 2022.  Through your contributions - whether it be time, knowledge, work experience opportunities, traineeship opportunities or monetary donations, you have made a significant difference to the outcomes of our students.  Our community clearly lives the saying “it takes a village to raise a child".

Basketball Courts

The construction of the second shade structure over the outdoor basketball courts will begin just prior to the start of school and will take all of term 1.  Unfortunately, that means these courts are out of action for term 1.  The Sports Centre will be available for some basketball but the P & C and school have invested in some football (soccer goals) which will be on the oval for students to play football during breaks in term 1.  Having two covered external basketball courts will be of a huge benefit for students in the long run.
