What do we study at Sunshine Beach State High School?
Our geographical position has some relevance to what and how we study at Sunshine Beach State High School.
The proximity to the water contributes to the development of unique marine studies courses with ‘hands on’ experience in Marine Science research tasks on Heron island which is part of the Great Barrier Reef.
We also have access to many of 'The Arts' areas such as Art, Photography, Dance, Drama and Music.
Our 'Languages' area has Italian but students an also access other languages by Distance Education such as Japanese, Spanish, German, Indonesian and French.
In the 'Technology area, we have Industrial Design, Graphics, Furnishing, Fashion, Hospitality and Childhood Studies.
Our 'Science' faculty covers a wide range of sciences from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Marine Science and Aquatic Practices.
Our 'English' faculty offers English and Literature whilst 'Humanities' covers Geography, History, Economics, Legal Studies and Psychology.
There are also many other subjects that are in the VET area for studies staying longer in Business, Engineering and Aviation, however students would have to be enrolled for a two year program.
