Along with literacy, numeracy is also an essential skill that children need to succeed in their everyday lives. SBSHS has a unique ‘in class support’ model where once a week students in years 7 and 8 have another maths teacher in their class room to support those students who need extension or assistance. We also have two numeracy coaches who assist teachers in using evidence-based teaching strategies and support their use of differentiated teaching approaches in the classroom.
