YOUNG CREST SCHOLARS PROGRAM
Sunshine Beach SHS is offering the 'Young CREST Scholars Program' for students in Years 5, & 6. The program is designed to provide enrichment opportunities for highly motivated students to develop their skills in critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity and innovation. Term 2: Thursday 30 May (Week 7)

YEAR 7 CREST PROGRAM
Our Year 7 CREST program is designed to provide enrichment opportunities for highly motivated students to develop their skills in critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity and innovation under the focus areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). To be eligible to apply, you must meet the appropriate criteria for enrolment at Sunshine Beach State High School (e.g. reside within catchment) Crest application (PDF, 1493KB) applications now closed for 2025
CREST program is available for students in year 7, who
demonstrate optimal academic results in the areas of Maths, Science and
Technology. Students will be selected and invited by our Junior Secondary
Panel. This class will come off line twice a week to participate in
extension activities and field trips. This program is only open to those
students who successfully meet enrolment criteria.
YEAR 8 PIPELINE PROGRAM
The Year 8 Academic Pipeline Program enhances the vision for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) at SBSHS to equip students with the necessary 21st Century skills (6 Cs) and knowledge to be innovative and aspirational problem solvers of the future. STEAM learning experiences inspire creativity and critical thinking in order to encourage students to be empowered lifelong learners.
• The Academic Pipeline Program builds upon SBSHS Young Crest Scholars and Year 7 Crest Programs.
• The Pipeline program will consist of four STEAM Immersion Days for students in Year 8.
• Students will cover a range of STEAM activities over the course of the year to have the opportunity to develop their skills in critical and creative thinking .
• Students will make positive contributions to the world through innovation, collaboration and creativity.

Academic Excellence Programs for 2025 have now closed. All successful recipients will be notified by email and announcements will be made in Week 10 Term 2. Students will be awarded badges and awards on the Orientation Day.
